The curriculum at Maiden Beech aims to introduce each student to a wide range of experiences, knowledge and skills. We encourage independent learning and personal reflection. We also work hard to make lessons and other activities relevant, challenging and fun.
We strive to build student's confidence and celebrate all forms of success. Appropriate technology and teaching aids are used in harness with a variety of teaching and learning styles including role play, group work, research work and traditional 'chalk and talk'.
Pupils' curriculum experience at Maiden Beech is enhanced by a carefully planned Extended Learning programme. Pupils are set tasks via the online Pupil Portal which gives them an opportunity to practise and extend their learning outside of the classroom. Parents are also able to view the tasks and programme via the Parent Portal enabling them to monitor and support their child. An Extended Learning club which takes places in our Learning Resource Centre is available before and after school for pupils who wish to utilise the facilities.
Trips & Visits
To complement the work done in the classroom, we have a lively schedule of trips and visits which make use of the locality and also to places of interest further afield.
